Job Description

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Towcester Racecourse's marketing strategy; driving attendance growth, corporate bookings, and revenue across greyhound racing, hospitality, events, and new product launches. This is a hands-on execution role; you'll be comfortable working autonomously with limited guidance and experienced in startups, scale-ups, or founder-led businesses. You thrive in fast-moving environments where you build and learn as you go. Support will be provided by the Fractional CMO during onboarding to master the marketing plan.

This role will be primarily based at Towcester Racecourse (5 days/week on-site presence expected) with occasional travel to Cheshire for monthly strategic meetings with the CEO. Please note, some events (racing, weddings, corporate functions, Derby etc.) require evening or weekend presence; time off in lieu will be granted on those occasions.

From 40,000 plus KPI bonus

Towcester Racecourse is a well-known racing and hospitality venue. Hosting live greyhound racing on and home to the English Greyhound Derby. The venue includes a large capacity restaurant, hospitality boxes, fast food and drink outlets. The venue is also expanding into diverse events such as concerts weddings and festivals.

2026 is a breakthrough year for Towcester Racecourse, with plans to grow existing products and offerings, introduce a staged return of Horses to our famous track, as well as launching a variety of new exciting products to a diversified audience.

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities



Daily Marketing Execution



Execute social media strategy across Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok Schedule content using social media tools, brief and manage in-house design resource on creative requirements Run email marketing campaigns including GDPR-compliant list resurrection, segmented nurture sequences, and event promotions Coordinate with sales team to create collateral, align on campaigns, and support bookings pipeline Track and report on marketing performance using analytics tools, social insights, and email metrics Manage monthly marketing operations budget across paid advertising, tools, and content production Create and implement targeted marketing campaigns

Campaign Management & Product Launches



Execute campaigns for existing products and partnerships e.g. greyhound racing including paid advertising, influencer partnerships, commercial partnerships, email campaigns, PR coordination, and hospitality packages Launch marketing for new products from new sport events through to festivals and shows Develop and execute LinkedIn B2B strategy for corporate event bookings and wedding venue promotion Create and maintain content calendars aligned to monthly themes and business priorities Design promotional campaigns for race day attendance, hospitality upsells, and event bookings

Team Management & Coordination



Management responsibility of in-house design resource with clear briefs, deadlines, and quality standards Opportunity for management responsibility to increase as team grows

Qualifications & Experience



Essential



2-4 years marketing experience in execution heavy roles

Social media management

- you've personally managed accounts, grown followers, created content and driven engagement across Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn

Email marketing expertise

with platforms like Mailchimp, Brevo or similar. You've built campaigns, segmented audiences and optimised performance through open and click rates

Content creation skills

- you can write compelling copy for social posts, emails, and ads; brief designers effectively; and understand what content performs on different platforms

Event coordination or hospitality marketing experience

- you've marketed events, supported bookings, or worked in venue/entertainment marketing

Analytics literacy

- comfortable reading Google Analytics, understanding conversion funnels, interpreting campaign performance data, and making data-informed decisions

Paid advertising basics

- you've run Meta (Facebook/Instagram) or Google ads, understand CPMs/CTRs/ROAS, and can optimise campaigns for performance

Project management skills

- you juggle multiple campaigns simultaneously, hit deadlines without being chased, and keep stakeholders informed

Autonomous working style

- you make smart decisions independently, problem-solve without extensive hand-holding, and take ownership of outcomes

Full UK driving license

- for travel to Cheshire office and occasional supplier/venue coordination meetings

Background in startups, scale-ups, or founder-led businesses

- you thrive in fast-moving environments where you build and learn as you go

Flexibility for weekend/evening work

- race days vary; events may require evening or weekend presence

Desirable



Experience in sports, racing, entertainment venues, or hospitality marketing

B2B marketing experience

- corporate event sales and venue hire

CRM or marketing automation knowledge beyond basic email platforms

Designer management or creative briefing experience

- you've worked with designers and know how to get quality output

TikTok or video content creation/editing skills

- comfortable shooting and editing short-form vertical video

Proficiency with design tools like Canva Pro
