We're looking for a motivated, creative all-rounder to help grow awareness and sales across our Oxford hospitality brands -
Central Backpackers
and
JoJo's Bar
.
This is a hands-on learning role ideal for someone who loves people, content, and community, and wants to build real-world marketing and sales experience within a small entrepreneurial team.
You'll work closely with managers to plan and deliver marketing campaigns, create social content, manage events, and build relationships that drive bookings and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Content
Plan and post weekly content for JoJo's and Central Backpackers across Instagram and Google.
Design simple assets in Canva (posters, stories, flyers, menus).
Write and schedule email newsletters and WhatsApp broadcasts.
Capture photos/videos of events, food, and guests (with permission).
Keep listings (Google, TripAdvisor, Hostelworld, etc.) fresh and accurate.
Sales & Community
Support private hire enquiries: respond, prepare quotes, and follow up leads.
Work with the hostel manager to promote group stays and seasonal offers.
Build partnerships with local businesses, societies, and student groups.
Assist in hosting or promoting weekly events (live music, quizzes, themed nights).
Track weekly results - footfall, bookings, engagement, conversions.
Learning & Development
Receive ongoing mentorship in digital marketing, brand management, and hospitality sales.
Gain experience using marketing tools (Meta Suite, Canva, Google Workspace).
Attend team meetings to learn business strategy and performance management.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in
Marketing, Communications, or a related field
(or equivalent practical experience).
Friendly, confident communicator who enjoys talking to people.
Creative eye for design and storytelling.
Comfortable using social media platforms and Canva.
Organised and able to manage multiple small projects at once.
Some experience in hospitality, marketing, or event coordination preferred.
Working Hours
Working hours are typically Monday-Friday, with some flexibility around evening events and promotions.
