Job Summary



We are seeking a proactive and creative

Marketing, Events & Communications Officer

to help promote Bungay as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. This newly created part-time role reflects the growing importance of communication, community engagement, and effective promotion across the town.We aim to enhance Bungay's visibility as a business and visitor destination, support and coordinate town events, improve communication with residents, and ensure statutory compliance for council website content and documentation.

Responsibilities



Ensure full compliance with statutory website requirements for town and parish councils in line with the ICO Model Publication Scheme, FOIA 2000, and the Local Government Transparency Code 2015. Maintain and develop the council's website and town event calendar following brand guidelines and best practice. Manage and expand the social media presence, creating engaging and informative content. Produce marketing materials, including leaflets, online listings, and promotional resources. Support local information platforms to maintain consistent messaging across the town. Keep visitor information and signage content up to date. Coordinate, support, and help develop local events, including creating event checklists and resources. Assist with two-way communications between the Council and residents. Provide regular activity updates and reports to the Council and stakeholders.

Requirements



Essential:



Experience in marketing, promotion, or event organisation. Confident use of social media for promotional purposes. Strong IT and communication skills. Website editing experience (ideally WordPress) and basic understanding of SEO. Positive, organised, adaptable, and a good team player with strong community engagement skills.

Desirable:



Understanding of local government regulations and ICO guidance. Knowledge or experience of website back-end processes. Skills in graphic design, photography, funding applications, and/or local area knowledge.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 16.35 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
