Do you have a passion for football and an interest in helping to maintain a top-quality playing surface at the home of Portsmouth FC?
We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Matchday Ground Volunteers to support our Grounds Team with essential pitch-related tasks on matchdays.
Role Summary
As a Matchday Ground Volunteer, you will help with:
Maintaining the stadium pitch during warm-ups, half-time, and after the match
Setting up and removing portable warm-up goals
Assisting with manual pitch repairs during warm-up, half-time, and post-match
Ensuring the playing surface and surrounding areas are safe and match-ready, reporting any concerns as needed
Supporting full-time staff with the operation of pitch grow lights
Carrying out all tasks in line with Health & Safety guidance
Key Skills
We are looking for someone who:
Is enthusiastic and enjoys working as part of a team
Is committed to maintaining a safe working environment
Can be flexible with matchday availability
Has an interest in groundskeeping or working within a stadium setting
(Desirable but not essential) Has experience in groundskeeping or sports turf operations
Guidance to consider:
The role is subject to a DBS check and right to work in the UK.
Our volunteers must have a full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Due to the requirements and the commitment the roles require, it is advisable that volunteers live within commutable distance to the Portsmouth.
