Purpose of the Role



As part of the Production Engineering & Control Team, you will learn how to program



laser and plasma cutting machines, and plan material allocation to ensure maximum



efficiency and minimum wastage of raw material. You will also liaise with Production



Supervisors to ensure that material is present and allocated to the correct jobs,



reporting any discrepancy to Purchasing and Production Management. All required



training will be provided.



Key Responsibilities


Assisting with and creating cutting programs for laser and plasma machines (after


training)


Planning material allocation

Tracking and managing material stock and offcut allocation

Loading and releasing shop orders into MRP system

Printing and collating routing sheets and drawings for issue to Machine Shop

Supporting Production Planning, Engineering & Control Team members with


general duties as required


Collating production timings & costings for routings


Required Skills & Experience


Knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing environments and processes

Ability to read technical drawings (basic understanding as a minimum)

Proficient with computer and IT systems including Excel

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn bespoke tasks

Knowledge of general Health & Safety principles and practices in a heavy


industrial environment

Working hours: 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 13:00 Friday
