Working as part of our team, you will provide effective support in delivering our service to our clients in the marketing and sales of the waste and recyclable materials. Subject to the candidates location, this role will be based at the closest Plan B office or be home-based, although regular travel is required.
We're not looking for any material sales experience necessarily, but experience in the waste sector is essential, ideally having a basic understanding of household waste and recyclable materials. You may have worked in a front-line collection crew as a driver or loader or as a supervisor or team leader in waste collections, you may have worked in a waste transfer station or materials recycling facility. We're looking for someone with the right values, a positive attitude, and an eagerness to learn and develop. Finance & Commercials
Assist the team in securing markets and maximising the value of material streams.
Commercial risk managed is effectively and all legal obligations satisfied.
Analyse material markets and re-processor demand to develop and execute strategies for each material stream so that desired / expected outcomes achieved.
Deliver effective tender processes when procuring reprocessor services so to deliver best financial, commercial and operational outcome, whilst ensuring continuity of off-take.
Supporting the production and issue of sales orders and other necessary paperwork to support the delivery of our services.
Ensure reprocessor agreements are tightly managed and risk managed effectively.
Providing data and information as required to feed into teams reporting.
Hold appropriate price review meetings and negotiate best terms, providing supporting evidence to substantiate decision making and assessment of impact.
Minimise debtor days and effectively manage risk of bad debt.
Service Support:
Undertaking site visits and audits as required.
Provide support to Clients and team members to ensure collections are delivered as required and that the service our customers receive exceeds expectations.
Carry out samples/tests on materials to feed into material quality and trading discussions and negotiations.
Provide support to Clients on materials quality related matters.
Relationship Development:
Developing relationships with partnered reprocessors to ensure contract requirements are delivered.
Develop effective working relationships with key internal and external customers to ensure material strategies are supported and delivered.
Work and engage with Client operational teams to enhance materials knowledge and understanding to commercial benefit.
Business Development:
Provide material sales and pricing support on business activities.
Identify material related business opportunities (i.e. material brokering) and support the business in developing solutions/proposals.
Compliance:
Ensure all Material Trading is carried in accordance with business requirements.
Ensure all trading activity meets legal obligations and appropriate due diligence is carried out prior to all and any transaction.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven analytical skills.
Basic knowledge of household waste and recyclable materials.
Experience of working within the waste industry, ideally in an operational role.
Self driven and able to work on their own initiative.
Strong organisation skills.
Strong health and safety awareness and understanding.
Full driving licence.
Able to prioritise effectively.
Confident in the use of IT
