Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and services, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Proven experience within the Construction sector, ideally within Facilities Management with knowledge of electrical and mechanical services, is essential for this position.

Duties

Manage the end-to-end purchasing process Analyse inventory levels and forecast future requirements to ensure timely procurement of materials. Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure the best value for the organisation. Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate shipments and optimise supply chain efficiency. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and procurement documentation. Monitor supplier performance and develop strategic relationships to improve service levels. Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and stay informed about industry trends. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations throughout all purchasing activities.

Skills

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms. Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles. Familiarity with merchandising processes and inventory control techniques. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously. Analytical mindset capable of interpreting data to inform purchasing decisions. Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, internal departments, and stakeholders.
