The Role
We're looking for a proactive and detail-orientated Materials Controller to join our small team. In this role, you'll ensure the material supply aligns with production schedules by developing strong supplier relationships, manage stock levels, and resolving issues before they impact production. As well as creating and maintaining supplier schedules on a weekly basis for the supply of production parts and spares via the use of reporting software.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and manage supplier schedules and Material Management Agreements (MMAs)
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials by liaising with suppliers
Build and maintain excellent supplier relationships
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce stockholding
Help and assist with stock accuracy
Liaise with goods inwards and stores
Investigate stock discrepancies, BOM errors, lead time issues and system inaccuracies
Collaborate with internal teams to support a smooth materials flow aligned with the assembly build plan
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
What We're Looking for:
Previous experience in a similar role within manufacturing is essential (preferably white goods or engineering)
Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
Strong supplier management
Working knowledge of MRP systems
Can-do attitude, flexibility and adaptability
A team player with excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
Strong planning, inventory, scheduling and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Knowledge of international sourcing
Self-motivated, organised, driven and capable of managing multiple projects
Full UK driving licence is essential
