The successful candidate will be based in within the Medium Engine Business in Kirkhill, Dyce. They will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ordering stock and ensuring pricing and turn times are in line with service level agreements the business have in place. The successful candidate will work closely with the Materials Engineers and Manager.

An overview of your day
As Materials Coordinator you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring that we are not holding excess stock
You will also be responsible for ensuring that we hold sufficient stock to support the project and ensure that regular stock is ordered to always maintain healthy stock levels.
Working Closely with the Materials Engineers and Materials Manager to ensure daily updates are delivered to Operations and Projects to ensure delivery of parts are made available to progress engine build,
Highlight and update any part that is going to cause delays in the Business
Pricing and turn times are in line with any service level agreements we have in place
Amend purchase order to ensure commercial and return dates are populated.
Take part in the weekly link call with sub-contracts for status updates.
Performance related penalties or volume rebates are calculated and progressed
Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required to meet the needs of the business.
Ensure compliance with all company policies.
Preparation of reports required to attend the weekly work in progress and deep dive preparation meetings, discussing and highlighting potential issues or problems with parts and trying to find a solution.
Attend Siemens-Energy provisioning conference discussing parts shortages and impact to business.
Take part in weekly critical parts call with Siemens-Energy discussing potential issues.
Attend monthly quality meetings and Healthy and Safety meeting on a rota basis to represent the department, ensuring tour is done beforehand.
Monitor inventory levels and determine when materials need to be replenished.
Place orders with vendors and suppliers for necessary materials and supplies.
Create and maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy of inventory counts.
Coordinate the delivery of materials to the appropriate workstations, departments, or storage areas.
Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Create and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed for production or projects.
Monitor and report on inventory levels, usage, and trends to management.
Amend purchase order to ensure commercial and return dates are populated.
Provide reports to Project Engineer and Material Engineer with delivery schedules.
Take part in the weekly link call with sub-contracts for status updates.
Provide monthly analysis report on spend, turn time and performance penalties with key sub-contracts.
Assist the Material Engineers in the creation of inventory purchase orders.
Co-ordinate and ensure any goods rejection or customer complaints are progressed and closed out in accordance with RWG quality systems.
Analyse the monthly spend for sub-contractor and compile report showing the breakdown by vendor per month and the total spend for the year.
Analysing stocks, usages and re-order points ensuring stocks are kept to suitable levels, replenishing to ensure sufficient cover for build. Creation of inventory purchase orders
Actively highlight any improvement opportunity that may contribute to ensuring the safety of our people, improve quality standards and take care of the environment.
Review and compile the information required for the Siemens-Energy provisioning conference, by analysing data, collating information, preparation of reports and providing the forecasting details required.
Compile a list of engines and planned test dates for year, updating any changes from deep dive meeting. Update sub-contractor report with dates. Give visibility for prioritising parts and return dates from sub-contractors and Advanced Remanufacturing Business.
Analysing reports for overdue purchase orders and chasing vendors for updates, updating system with new dates.
Dealing with invoice/accounts queries.
Sourcing materials and negotiating pricing.
Dealing with technical and quality queries from sub-contractor vendors, liaising with Engineering, Inspection and Projects to resolve these issues.
Analyse and collate information for monthly Siemens-Energy reports showing overdue orders, monthly purchase order value and receipt values.
Update Maximo with dates added to shortage sheets by Siemens-Energy.
Analyse monthly reports from Siemens-Energy, updating system with any changes and highlighting potential issues.
Raise routes and add parts to routes in Maximo for inspection, to allow parts to be launched for repair.
Run re-order reports which need adapted by running several reports and index and matching the required information to analyse and identify which parts can be ordered efficiently.
Create new parts in Maximo and update system for re-order points, alternatives, stock holding.
Analyse Siemens-Energy and sub-contractor annual price increases and impact to the business, challenging any large anomalies.
Analyse project sales order report on a monthly basis and advise which sales orders can be closed off.
What we need from you
Familiar with MRP system
Basic knowledge of word and excel.
Understanding of ERP system
Good self-starter, use initiative, proactive approach to work tasks, works with limited supervision, manages time scales, work well under pressure, and prioritise work activities.
Good knowledge of sub-contractor repairs vendors
Ability to communicate regularly and clearly with internal/external contacts. (phone/face-to-face/written)
Communication skills with internal and external customers
Computer literate
Familiar with MRP system
