We are seeking an experienced Materials Co-ordinator to assisting in the purchasing of products, materials, equipment and services for our Leeds production facility. Packaging and shipping of finished products, organising transport to deliver goods to and from site, and providing general support for the materials management team in receiving and issuing goods to production.
Job Responsibilities
Acquiring materials, equipment, and services, from approved suppliers, that are compliant with the company's standards at competitive prices to satisfy the daily operation of the company and satisfy customer requirements.
Organising transport to deliver goods to and from site.
Building supplier and customer relationships.
Preparation and execution of national and international shipments of finished product.
Warehousing and general materials management, ensuring proper storage of goods.
Maintain accurate stock inventory records.
Giving information to the relevant people in a timely manner.
Dealing with and resolving day-to-day issues e.g., missing items, ETA on deliveries, chasing orders, sourcing goods.
Raising purchase requests and orders on QAD ERP system.
Liaising with the materials team to ensure items have arrived and making quality aware of items requiring receiving inspection.
Contacting suppliers, both internal and external, to check availability of stock, prices, and lead times.
Filing purchase orders and delivery notes.
Maintaining and adhering to the quality management system.
Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
Supporting the materials team to cover absence with duties such as receiving materials, issuing stock to production, liaising with suppliers for certificates.
Performing any other duties as requested to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar position.
Previous experience in the use of an ERP system.
Minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English language.
Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as word, outlook and excel.
Skills and Abilities
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent customer service skills
Be able to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Self-starter with the ability to manage own workload and handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
