This role is one of the most important pivotal roles within the Supply Chain Dept, ensuring we manufacture our product efficiently and is delivered on time to our customer, creating the highest level of service.

Managing the smooth and timely flow of work throughout the manufacturing facility, providing an end to end service from work order generation through to supplier liaison and logistical planning. Responsible for ensuring that raw materials are available for production and that products are created in accordance with the demand plan and production capability and are delivered on time in full.
Key Accountabilities
Developing and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity
Coordinating with production, sales, and purchasing teams to develop and adjust schedules to meet production goals, using data from demand planning, S and OP process and raw material availability
Analyzing production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements to develop the production schedule
Monitoring the production process, making routine production reports, and resolving any potential delays with flexible solutions in a timely manner
Updating production schedule to include changes, availability of raw materials, and capacity constraints
Ensuring that all necessary resources are available for the production process, including labour, materials, and machinery
Lifecycle management of materials - new and old, and inventory control management
Assessing and identifying any issues that might impact the production schedule and implementing corrective actions where necessary
Communicating with management and other stakeholders about the status of production schedules and any potential issues that may arise or lead to delayed delivery of product
Optimizing production operations for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Key Tasks
Materials Planning
Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders.
Analysis of relevant data to ensure the company are procuring material within cost constraints and applying lifecycle management techniques
Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products, ensuring that they are delivered on time and are to a high standard
Managing schedule changes, and cancellations as required.
Creating forecasts for materials requirements, including estimating seasonal fluctuations demand using S&OP process.
Reviewing inventory levels of materials and ordering additional quantities when necessary, based on business requirements and output from S&OP and updating the inventory tracking system
Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
Producing a weekly pick list for the prep team to confirm ingredient stock for the following week
Monitoring costs associated with materials purchases and maintaining records of expenditures.
Creation of works orders and their communication to relevant functional areas.
Production Scheduling
Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables, to determine available resources and align with production priorities
Estimate rates of production and completion dates for tasks
Ensure production plans, work-to lists, production sequences, and shop floor documentation are accurate and issued on time to optimise performance and minimise delays..
Track production progress against the schedule, report deviations to the production management team, and support the development of corrective actions.
Respond promptly to production issues to minimize impact on customer delivery timelines.
Escalate significant issues to the Operations/Sales Teams as necessary such as design changes, labour or material shortages, backlogs, breakdowns or other interruptions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive productivity improvements and ensure on-time delivery.
Communicate with Sales to identify upcoming customer demand and plan accordingly.
General
Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, to generate production reports
Prepare data-driven production reports as requested, highlighting process inefficiencies and contributing to problem-solving initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a production planning role within a small-batch manufacturing environment.
Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Sales, Customer Services and Operations teams.
Proven experience in materials planning and production processes
Proficiency with MRP systems and workflow processes
Skilled in identifying and resolving planning-related production issues.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
Hands-on experience using ERP systems in a batch manufacturing setting.
Strong attention to detail, analytical alongside problem-solving skills
Highly organized with excellent prioritizing approach
Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to influence stakeholders
