Materials Planning Coordinator


Location:

Paneltex Ltd, Somerden Road, Hull, HU9 5PE

Reporting to:

Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader


Hours of work:

40 hours per week -Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30


Salary:

From 32,000.00 per annum

Job Overview





Support the system-based planning and coordination of materials requirements in line with the production plan, allowing timely picking and line delivery. This role is based between purchasing and our busy warehouse but also involves working closely with production and engineering teams.



Providing an exciting opportunity to help achieve our materials planning and delivery objectives with a more system-based approach, this could suit somebody from a stock system or job costing system background looking to broaden their horizons. The ability to learn about the products we manufacture and constituent parts is paramount.






Key Duties and Responsibilities


+ Create warehouse pick templates by delivery location using in house bill of materials (BOM). + Load works orders onto the system
+ Monitor warehouse picks for timeliness
+ Deal with any overpicks/inaccurate picks and correct for the future
+ Feedback any upcoming shortages to allow issues to be resolved before they cause a problem on the main production lines.
+ Monitor and see through any short picks/outstanding picks with supporting departments
+ Liaise with relevant departments (design/electrical/manufacturing) in order to drive accuracy of item requirement and quantity on works orders and picks
+ Coordinate with interested departments (purchasing, warehouse, production) to ensure material availability in line with the production plan.
+ Allocate stocks as required to give added visibility to the stock landscape.
+ Work with warehouse stock control staff to help resolve any stock issues/discrepancies.
+ Support stocktaking, cycle counts, other internal audits and valuation reports.
+ Support job costing function using information gathered from picks and bills of materials.
+ Provide input to the purchasing team to help shape future progression as the business continues to grow.
+ Be familiar with the company's Health and Safety Policies and in particular with your responsibilities.
+ Comply with all relevant internal rules, policies and procedures, included in the company handbook.




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


+ Excellent communicator; in person, on the phone, electronic means. + Some experience of manufacturing, bills of materials, purchasing, warehouse management and works order systems.
+ Competent IT skills using standard business packages; Microsoft 365 etc.
+ Good problem-solving skills to help address issues encountered as our systems develop further.
+ Attention to detail to drive accuracy.
+ Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
+ A willingness to see things through to a conclusion.
+ Physical capability to lift and move items as needed.
+ Good understanding of Health and Safety.
+ Excellent work ethic and team player.
+ Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
+ Flexible approach to working additional hours when required.
