Entry Level Laboratory Technician

Location: Bristol

Working Hours: Mon - Fri 40 Hours per week

Salary: \xc2\xa321,840.00 pa

We are looking for someone that is enthusiastic, motivated and has an interest in construction materials. Within our Bristol laboratory we conduct testing on samples of soil, concrete, earthworks, and other construction materials for our clients, so with the nature of the materials we test, it definitely isn\'t a white coat lab.

This is a great position if you are looking to earn as you learn. We have a great in-house team that will ensure you have all the training you need, so no experience of Materials Testing is necessary.

There is a great opportunity to progress within the ever expanding laboratory.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be happy to follow strict protocols and processes, embrace health and safety, as well as ensure all paperwork is accurate and completed on time for the client.

Core responsibilities:

  • To produce test results in accordance with the documented procedures, standards and specifications.
  • To ensure testing/sampling activities are maintained in compliance with UKAS and Company requirements.
  • To commit to ensuring the confidentiality of all customer information obtained or created during the performance of laboratory activities, except as required by law.
  • To carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in-house procedures, in an expeditious manner.
Skills required:
  • We are looking for someone that has great mathematical and literacy skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • IT literate.
  • We want someone that works great within a team but can also work solo as the job is a great mixture of both.

CTS and our range of independent UKAS accredited laboratories provide on-site testing and laboratory services to the construction, quarry products and civil engineering industries across the whole of the UK.

Our purpose-built laboratories are fully equipped to test the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of soils, aggregates, concrete and bituminous materials as well as other construction materials and products.

Our highly-trained technicians and engineers either visit sites and take representative samples for subsequent laboratory testing, or conduct in-situ field tests.
