Cobella is a prestigious, award-winning salon located in the heart of High Street Kensington, dedicated to providing exceptional hair and beauty services. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and dynamic individual to cover a 10 to 12 -month maternity contract with the potential for a permanent role to join our professional and vibrant team.

About the Opportunity



Reporting directly to the Salon Owner/Director, the Assistant Salon Manager will be the lynchpin of the salon's daily operations, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for both our team and our discerning clientele. You will be responsible for operational management, staff coordination, and maintaining the administrative functions that drive our business forward.

Key Responsibilities



Operations & Staff Management



Rostering & HR Administration:

Efficiently manage and create the weekly and monthly staff

rosters

for stylists and assistants, manage holiday requests, and maintain all

staff documentation

(e.g., contracts, files) to ensure compliance and readiness.

Team Engagement:

Organise and lead staff-focused initiatives including staff meetings, one-on-one reviews, recognition programs, and social events (e.g., team breakfasts, summer/Christmas parties).

Problem-Solving:

Serve as the primary point of contact for staff requests and effectively handle day-to-day internal problem-solving.

Training Coordination:

Liaise directly with our

training company

to coordinate, book, and arrange all necessary training sessions and meetings for our assistant team.

Financial & Stock Control



Revenue Analysis:

Conduct detailed

weekly revenue analyses

to track performance, identify trends, and inform business decisions.

Accounts Assistance:

Support the accounts team by managing weekly

invoices

and preparing essential monthly analyses and information required for

payroll

processing.

Inventory Management:

Oversee the complete

stock management

lifecycle, including ordering, receiving, and inventory control for all professional products, retail items, salon basics, and specialised items like hair extensions.

Licensing:

Ensure the annual

Special Treatment Licensing

is reviewed and updated in a timely manner.

Front of House & Client Experience



FOH Leadership:

Manage and maintain the high standard of the

Front of House

area, ensuring the reception is professional and organised at all times.

Communication Hub:

Handle all incoming and outgoing

communications

via calls, emails, and WhatsApp promptly and professionally.

Booking Management:

Ensure all client bookings are correctly entered into the system, including keeping up-to-date

colour and general client notes

.

Service Recovery:

Proactively and effectively address all

client complaints and requests

to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.

VIP & Press Coordination:

Manage the bookings and uphold the highest service standards for our

VIP and Press clients

in collaboration with Jordanna.

Marketing & Business Development



System Management:

Become the expert user for

SalonIQ

, managing promotions, marketing campaigns, and new tool implementation, including attending monthly meetings.

Brand Partnership:

Act as the main liaison with

Wella

(our key product partner) to coordinate promotions, in-salon training, staff training, and collaborative events.

Recruitment Support:

Assist with the team hiring process for new assistants and stylists, including collaboration with Stephanie and conducting initial interviews.

SPA Support:

Provide administrative and logistical assistance to our SPA tenants, managing requests and addressing any related client feedback.

What We're Looking For



Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, ideally within the luxury salon, spa, or hospitality industry. Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong analytical skills for tracking revenue and managing inventory. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to liaise with staff, clients, suppliers (Wella), and training partners. Proficiency with salon management software (experience with

SalonIQ

is highly desirable). A proactive, solution-focused attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A professional and polished presentation that reflects the Cobella brand.
