Job Description

This is a maternity cover post for a person to teach KS3 and KS4 Science with the ability to teach KS3 Mathematics. You must be able to demonstrate that you have the skills, experience, qualifications and abilities to make a significant contribution to raising achievement at Mayville High School. This position would suit an experienced teacher as well as an NQT.

The successful applicant will:

Be a well qualified, talented classroom teacher with QTS ;

.Teach from year 7 to year 11 upto GSCE Standard

Have excellent communication skills;

Have excellent organisational skills;

Have thorough subject knowledge and be able to inspire a love of learning;

Demonstrate a commitment to their own learning with evidence of further studies;

Be committed to working and learning in a collaborative, innovative team with high standards committed to raising expectations and achievement of all pupils;

Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of, children and young people;

Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people;

Be willing to take on additional responsibilities within the department;

General Responsibilities

Teach pupils principally in your own subject across the age and ability range and in accordance with agreed schemes of learning and assessment for learning, recording and reporting procedures;

Share responsibility for ensuring the safety, well-being and discipline of all the pupils at the school;

Adhere to all school policies and procedures as laid out in the Staff Handbook.

participate in the development of appropriate materials and schemes of learning within your department and in co-operation with colleagues;

Carry out a share of supervisory duties (break duty and exam invigilation for example) in accordance with agreed rotas;

Participate in appropriate meetings with parents and colleagues relating to all aspects of your work as a teacher at Mayville High School;
