We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team in Leeds. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves providing personalised tutoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of each student, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. The Tutor will work with children of varying ages and abilities, including those requiring special education support. To be considered for this role, you must be educated in the field of your subject and be able to work with children aged from 8 to 17 years old.
If you are looking to add your hours up on a weekly basis: (Saturday two-Three Hours 10.00 am-12.00pm) and two to four hours on a week day (17.00-19.00) to your job, consider applying for the job role. The centre will only consider a candidate who has expertise in Maths and English . (Science preferable but not essential) QTS essential or PGCE- Please do not apply for this job if you do not hold these Qualifications.
Duties
Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in various subjects.
Variety of age groups from Primary to Secondary pupils
Develop customised lesson plans that cater to the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and areas for improvement.
Educate students on study techniques, organisational skills, and subject matter comprehension.
Assist students with homework and exam preparation, ensuring they understand key concepts.
Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes learning and confidence.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to track student progress and adapt tutoring strategies as necessary.
Tutor students from Age 8-17
Qualifications
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly with children.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and parents.
Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
Ability to educate diverse learners, adapting methods to suit individual needs.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically.
Relevant qualifications in education QTS or PGCE-Do not apply if you do not have these qualifications.
