Contract: Term time 6hrs over 3days

Salary: 25 per hour

EduPaws LTD is a new alternative provision opening in January 2026 and we are looking for a maths and English tutor who has experience with working with challenging behaviour. This is to help support children with social, emotional and mental health needs primarily and also some additional learning needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves working closely with students to provide personalised instruction and support, fostering a positive learning environment that encourages growth and confidence.

This is to work with KS4 students who are unable to work within a mainstream classroom due to past or current childhood traumas and cannot engage in mainstream classrooms. Some students may portray some challenging behaviours.

The students may be working at GCSE level but majority may work at Entry level due to historically low attendance at school.

Typical timetable will be;

Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays

10:15-11:15 English

11:30-12:30 Maths

About the job role:

Provide small group tutoring sessions tailored to the needs of students. Develop engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes. Communicate effectively with students and educators regarding student performance and areas for improvement. Create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student engagement and motivation. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance. Be able to work with an LSA during session who is there to help and support both yourself as a tutor and the students You will not be expected to put the students forward for GCSE exams but may for Entry level students where suitable You are not expected to complete any student disciplinary action, this will be for the provision leader
Minimum Requirements:

To have experience in delivering both low level and GCSE Maths It is desirable to have some experience with challenging behaviour Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one via EduPaws LTD To have patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills A relevant teaching qualification Be happy to be in the company with large dogs (Pets as Therapy)
