Overview:



The Horizon School is a nurturing and ambitious alternative provision, currently serving students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who face barriers to success in mainstream education. We are preparing to expand our offer to include younger pupils at KS2. We are seeking apassionate and resilient SENDCo to play a vital role in shaping inclusive and high-impactsupport for pupils with SEND across the school.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and evolve our SEND provision in a flexible, highly personalised environment following the Graduated Approach. The post may include a teaching element depending on experience, expertise, and school need.

Key Responsibilities:



- Deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons across KS3-KS4.

- Develop and adapt schemes of work and assessment methods for neurodiverse learners.

- Foster a supportive, structured learning environment promoting resilience and independence.

- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including SEN specialists and therapists.

- Track progress and provide feedback to pupils and families.

- Contribute to EHCP reviews and annual reporting as needed.

About You:



- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

- Experience teaching maths at KS3 and KS4. - A strong understanding of neurodiversity and a creative, flexible teaching approach.

- Excellent communication and teamworking skills.

- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in line with the Department for Education's

Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)

guidance.

You will be expected to uphold and follow the school's safeguarding policies at all times and act promptly and professionally when concerns arise. We are looking for someone who is caring, vigilant, and able to foster a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and secure. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
