HLNSC is looking to appoint a highly effective Maths teacher to deliver Maths qualifications to full time 16-19-year-old students studying on full time vocational programmes at the college. This includes teaching GCSE maths and Functional Skills qualifications. Teaching may extend to our apprentices and adult students at HLNSC. We're looking for a dynamic individual who can deliver high-quality teaching and learning, supporting learners and apprentices to make progress over time, and help them to achieve their preferred next steps in education, employment or further training.
A flexible approach to the job is required as change may be necessary within the scope of the post.
The ideal candidate will already have a recognised teaching qualification at L5 or above, or be willing to work towards this qualification. The college can support unqualified applicants to pursue a relevant and appropriate teaching qualification, namely the level 5 learning and skills apprenticeship.

Person Specification
Essential
A relevant Level 3 or higher qualification in Maths
A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards such (training provided)
A strong record of teaching and learning
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to work effectively with other team members and to meet deadlines
Desirable
GCSE Maths and Functional Skills teaching experience, preferably in the post 16 educational sector
A good working knowledge of the GCSE Maths and Functional specifications, quality systems and exam requirements
Hold a recognised teaching qualification
