Full time with part time considered.

Outwood Grange Academy seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.

Are you a specialist teacher of maths at KS4 and KS5 or aspiring to be so? This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic secondary maths teacher with a desire to specialise in KS4/5 teaching and to support students at KS4 with the transition to A-Level and Core Maths. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject are essential and some experience of teaching at KS5 is desirable. We are looking for someone who is passionate about encouraging students to take their study of maths into KS5 and beyond, someone with the creativity and enthusiasm to inspire our students. Our KS5 curriculum is developing to have a greater focus on Teaching for Understanding and ensures we focus on depth of understanding, meaning that our students get a true understanding of Maths at their level.

At Outwood Grange Academy we expect our staff to be the best they can be and in turn encourage and bring out the best in our wonderful students. Our diverse curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility - towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. This is an opportunity to join our Maths Department who are committed to driving progress and attainment to improve the life chances of every student.

The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of schools. Our Executive Director for Maths leads Yorkshire and the Humber Maths Hub and there are masses of opportunities for you to get involved in the fantastic projects they run.

The maths department at Outwood Grange Academy has 18 classrooms based in our dedicated maths block, each equipped with an interactive TV and visualiser to support the delivery of lessons. You will be joining a strong department that ranges in experience from ECTs to more than 20 years' experience and members of the Senior Leadership Team. We also benefit from maths one to one tutors and a specialist numeracy TA who offer intervention to students. The department is led by our experienced Head of Department with a vision to succeed. Leadership development, succession planning and capacity building are major priorities for the Trust as this enables us to facilitate rapid progression for those who want to advance either in the classroom or at a leadership level. You will be well supported by an experienced team of teachers and Directors as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging curriculum experience that focuses on teaching for understanding. The ability to teach KS4 and KS5 is desirable as we are committed to continuing to provide excellent Post 16 provision.
