Duties
Prepare and deliver comprehensive mathematics lessons tailored to the curriculum and individual student needs
Assess student progress through tests, assignments, and class participation, providing constructive feedback
Develop customised tutoring programmes to support students requiring additional assistance in mathematics or related scientific subjects
Manage behaviour effectively within the classroom environment, promoting positive learning attitudes
Mentor students to build confidence in their mathematical abilities and encourage critical thinking skills
Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects involving scientific research or laboratory work where applicable
Proofread educational materials and resources to ensure accuracy and clarity
Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching methods accordingly
Organise laboratory activities or practical sessions in biochemistry or scientific research when relevant
Skills
Strong proficiency in mathematics with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Experience in mentoring, tutoring, or behaviour management within an educational setting
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for engaging diverse student populations
Familiarity with scientific research methods and laboratory experience is desirable
Ability to adapt teaching strategies for students with special educational needs or those requiring additional support
Proven organisational skills to plan lessons effectively and manage classroom activities efficiently
Attention to detail when proofreading educational content and assessments
