Edinburgh, Fife & Lothians Tutors is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic

Secondary School Tutors

to join our growing team. We provide high-quality, one-to-one and group program tuition for students across National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher qualifications. Tutors will support learners

online throughout Scotland

, helping them build confidence, improve understanding, and achieve their academic goals.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong subject knowledge in the Curriculum of Excellence (CfE) for Maths, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education. Tutors must hold a valid

PVG certificate or be willing to obtain one

.

Responsibilities



Deliver engaging, tailored tutoring sessions for National 5, Higher, or Advanced Higher students in your subject(s) of expertise. Ability to deliver Primary level and lower Secondary tutoring a plus Provide tuition both online (via video call platforms) for students across Scotland Assess each student's needs, create structured lesson plans, and adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. Track and monitor progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain professionalism and punctuality in all communications and sessions. Represent Edinburgh, Fife & Lothians Tutors as a reliable, friendly, and trusted educational support service.

Experience & Requirements



Degree-level education in a relevant subject (or working towards this). Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, particularly at National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher levels. Confident in both online teaching platforms and using graphics tablets/iPad to show solutions Excellent communication and organisational skills. Must hold a valid

PVG certificate

(Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). A

teaching qualification

is preferred (TEFL, PGDE, B.Ed )

Pay: 20.00-24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 10 per week
