An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Matron cohort in one of Bradfield College's senior boarding houses from January 2026.
As a Matron, you will assist with and contribute to the supervision and care of pupils, safeguarding their health and general wellbeing and ensuring pupils adhere to the College's ethos and standards. Your duties will also include accompanying pupils to medical, or other appointments when requested and assisting with any medical emergencies that may arise.
There is a degree of flexibility within the role, so applications are welcome for both day and residential positions. The hours for a day role will be 5.5 hours on Wednesday, 07:30 - 18:00 on either Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday and alternate Saturdays 07:30 - 18:00. For the residential position, you will work the full week, with 30 hours off. Accommodation will be provided.
About you
Matrons are paramount in supporting the welfare of our pupils, so you'll need to be practical, proactive, and an excellent communicator and team player, with a passion for providing outstanding pastoral care. Previous experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential.
All applicants will be subject to pre-employment screening, which includes an enhanced DBS and reference check prior to appointment.
