Monday - Thursday, 6.00am - 4.00pm
Job Objectives:
Ensure all mattresses and components are produced to specification and meet the company's quality standards.
Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies in materials or finished products.
Operate tools and machinery safely and correctly, ensuring they are maintained in good working order.
Adhere to all health & safety procedures and contribute to a safe and organised working environment.
Support production output by performing multiple tasks across various departments as needed.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
As a Multi-Skilled Production Operative, you will work across different stages of the mattress manufacturing process. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Feeding
Supply production stations with the correct raw materials in a timely and organised manner.
Read and interpret product specifications to ensure accurate material selection and preparation.
Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs.
Framing
Assemble mattress frames using designated materials and tools.
Ensure structural accuracy and stability of frames before moving to the next stage.
Clip Build
Secure mattress borders and panels using handheld clipping tools.
Follow production tickets to ensure correct border, size, and layout are used for each unit.
Prepare spring and filling layers for assembly.
Mattress Assembly
Layer fillings, spring units, and other components to assemble mattresses as per job specifications.
Tag or secure top panels to the mattress base and ensure uniform build quality.
Tufting
Perform hand or machine tufting to secure internal fillings and improve mattress durability.
Ensure tufting is aligned and tensioned correctly according to product standards.
Tape Edge
Operate tape edge machinery to seal and finish mattress edges cleanly and securely.
Monitor stitching quality and alignment throughout the process.
Wrapping/Packaging
Use handheld scanning devices to log finished goods.
Wrap and package mattresses using appropriate materials, colours, and labels per instructions.
Prepare products for dispatch in accordance with quality and safety requirements.

General Responsibilities
Meet daily production targets and deadlines while maintaining consistent quality output.
Rotate between roles and assist with cross-training to support team flexibility and business needs.
Conduct regular quality checks on in-process and finished products.
Maintain cleanliness and order within your workstation and report any issues to supervisors.
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
