We are seeking experienced cable installers within MDU residential hallways (Multiple Dwelling Units) Engineers to support nationwide fibre installation projects across residential and commercial sites. This long-term contract offers consistent work and excellent earning potential. You will be responsible for full lifecycle fibre deployment including testing, installations, and customer handovers.
Key Responsibilities
Install and test fibre optic cables, including both internal and external premises installs
Perform underground cabling (duct routes)
Conduct on-site surveys and assess UG/OOH routes
Read and interpret fibre plans/schematics (Openreach/CityFibre)
Complete accurate documentation and test records
Maintain compliance with health and safety (including PPE, lighting and guarding)
Communicate professionally with clients, landlords, and site contacts
Troubleshoot faults and carry out connectivity repairs
Maintain vehicle stock and tools to company standards
Must be confident installing, repairing and testing fibre optic cables within MDU hallways.
Essential Requirements:
Candidates must have the following current or recently expired certifications (refreshers may be available):
SA020 - Health and safety in MDU's
N29 - FTTP Connectorised MDU
Streetworks Unit 2 / 01 - Signing, Lighting & Guarding
Valid Network Operator Passport Scheme (NOPS) Card
UKATA Asbestos Awareness
Additional requirements:
Willingness to undergo a CRB check
Manual UK driving licence and experience driving vans with access to own vehicle for travelling to and from sites.
Own tools required, some may be provided.
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous experience on Openreach or CityFibre networks.
Licence/Certification:
Valid Manual UK Licence - no more than 6 points (required), with own vehicle!
