M&E Pre-Construction Manager




About the Role





At Harmony Fire, our work saves lives. As Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead from the front - shaping strategy, building strong client relationships, and driving commercial success while ensuring projects are set up for flawless delivery.



This is not just a management role - it is a leadership opportunity for an A-Player who thrives on responsibility, clarity, and ambition. You will be trusted to grow and coach your team, hold them to account, and set a standard of excellence that raises the bar across the business.


Key Responsibilities




Own and develop at least five client relationships, meeting clients quarterly and building trust through expertise and delivery Set and execute GP and revenue targets for your team, ensuring accurate forecasting within 10% every month Lead and coach your team, developing B players into A players and retaining A talent - aiming for 70%+ A potential across your team Recruit A players into the business, maintaining a strong network of talent to draw from Drive innovation in internal processes, constantly seeking ways to improve efficiency and performance Work closely with Client Relations to mobilise new clients and add value through cost, specification, and programme expertise Negotiate with clients and suppliers, justifying pricing, demonstrating added value, and protecting Harmony's commercial position Lead client handovers to Delivery, ensuring all information is clear, complete, and buildable Manage problems to 100% resolution - internally and externally - never leaving loose ends Identify and mitigate risks throughout the pre-construction phase to protect both client and business outcomes Deliver structured onboarding and quarterly appraisals for your team, setting 90-day objectives, career plans, and development goals Submit accurate weekly client reports and forecasts in line with company requirements Record all activities in Salesforce to ensure full visibility and accountability

What We're Looking For




Proven experience leading pre-construction teams in M&E, fire protection, or wider construction Strong commercial intelligence and strategic thinking - able to balance client needs with Harmony's objectives Excellent leadership skills - able to inspire, coach, and hold your team to account while fostering a culture of growth Highly skilled negotiator with the ability to manage clients and suppliers confidently and effectively Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills - a do it right first time mindset Calm under pressure, logical, and dispassionate when needed to protect the health of the business Ambitious, driven, and competitive - someone who refuses to accept the status quo and strives for continual improvement Passionate about developing people, building high-performing teams, and creating a winning culture
