About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter / Service Engineer to join our growing team in Ripon. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge who enjoys hands-on work with heavy plant machinery, HGVs, agricultural equipment, and construction vehicles.

As a Mobile Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a wide range of equipment. You'll play a key role in keeping our fleet and machinery running smoothly, working both on-site and out in the field.

Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing and maintenance on plant machinery, vehicles and equipment. Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime. Use a variety of hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals. Ensure all work complies with health & safety standards. Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines. Travel to customer sites when required (company vehicle provided).

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a mechanic, plant fitter, mobile service engineer or maintenance technician. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems. Ability to work with heavy lifting equipment - physical fitness is essential. Experience in automotive repair, construction plant or agricultural machinery (preferred). Problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail. UK work authorisation required.

Location

Ripon, North Yorkshire (HG4 3JB). Candidates must be able to commute reliably or relocate before starting. This is a mobile role - willingness to travel up to 75% of the time is required, vehicle supplied.
