Adman Civil Projects Ltd is a dynamic Civil Engineering contractor based in Omagh, County Tyrone.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our Plant Department, who will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing the company's fleet of commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fleet Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on vehicles; ensure Vehicles are serviced for successful MOT certification.
Effective planning / scheduling: Ensure preventive maintenance is scheduled and priority repairs are completed to reduce downtime.
Quality of workmanship: Ensure Vehicles are serviced and pro-actively maintained to a high standard, and reduce the need for re-work / additional repairs.
Safety and Compliance: Follow all applicable safety, health, environment, and waste management policies.
2. Work closely with the Plant Manager and SHEQ team to ensure compliance with Company Policies including during internal inspections and audits. Maintain area in a tidy and organised manner; conduct routine housekeeping duties.
Inventory and Tool Management / Record keeping: Keep an accurate inventory, maintain up-to-date maintenance records, including operating logbooks and databases. Maintain control over tools, manuals, repair parts, assemblies, and consumables.
3. Communication: Inform your line Manager about any significant repair or maintenance issues, including evidence of neglect / carelessness caused by the vehicle owner. Maintains communication with the wider Plant Team..
4. Perform any other tasks as assigned by management
Essential Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of vehicles.
Qualified in Vehicle Maintenance with NVQ Level 3
Strong technical knowledge and demonstrates ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical malfunction in vehicles
Ability to work independently, has strong problem- solving skills
Is flexible and adaptable, can re-schedule / prioritise work load as necessary on the basis of urgent break-downs / repairs as necessary. Excellent Problem-solving skills
Has high quality and safety standards in ensuring Vehicles are fully repaired / maintained before being issued, resulting in minimal vehicle downtime
Has strong communication skills and works well as a team and contributes to the overall success and efficiency of the Plant Department.
Complies with all safety standards and procedures [COSHH, PPE].
Desirable requirements:
Experience / knowledge in Heavy Plant / the Construction sector is advantageous
