Job Description
Hugh Simpson (Contractors) Ltd. is the largest crane hire and heavy lifting services company based in Caithness. A post has arisen for a MECHANIC to join our construction plant / HGV maintenance team based in Wick on a full time basis.
Duties will include performing preventative inspections and maintenance on working machinery to ensure proper upkeep as well as preparing vehicles for MOT. You will also be required to diagnose and repair faults and problems on different types of HGV vehicles and construction plant.
We expect you to be a qualified and experienced HGV technician with a good understanding of HGV vehicles and construction plant maintenance and repair. A sincere care for health and safety towards yourself and others is essential for this position.
Applicants must have physical strength and fitness to carry out tasks involving manual handling, using hand and power tools and operating plant.
Experience in diagnostics would be beneficial but not essential.
Applicant must hold a minimum B category driving licence, C or C+E category would be beneficial.
