Our client, a well-established building services consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions, is seeking a

Mechanical Design Engineer

to join their Birmingham office. The practice works across multiple sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, and residential, and has an excellent track record of sustainable and energy-efficient design.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Designing and delivering mechanical building services solutions from concept through to completion. Producing detailed layouts, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software. Collaborating with electrical engineers, architects, contractors, and clients. Attending site visits, client meetings, and design team workshops.

Candidate Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) or equivalent experience. Previous experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or IES. Ideally Senior/Principal level with management experience. Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
