We are partnering with a leading Leicester-based engineering company to recruit a

Mechanical Applications & Design Engineer

. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work within an experienced engineering team supporting design, technical development, and customer-focused solutions.

You will apply your mechanical expertise and technical problem-solving skills to support OEM customers, develop applications, and contribute to product innovation.

12.98/hour + 1.57 holiday pay

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support and product advice to OEM customers. Prepare detailed quotations, engineering documentation, and technical data packs. Create and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks. Collaborate with suppliers and partners to support new product development. Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining a strong focus on service and accuracy. Assist with vibration analysis using FFT and dedicated vibration engineering tools.
Skills and Experience

Qualified mechanical engineer (minimum HNC level) or equivalent hands-on industry experience. Strong IT literacy with experience using digital tools such as Sage 50 and engineering software for technical calculations. AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience (advantageous but not essential). Excellent communication, organisation, and customer service skills. Proactive and collaborative approach, working closely with internal engineers and technical sales teams.
