MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB



The Mechanical Design Engineer will deliver excellent stakeholder management by demonstrating our capability in project design and delivery, reporting project updates in a timely and appropriate manner. To ensure all internal and external policies and procedures are followed, including the health and safety compliance of all projects.

To forecast, design, develop and deliver project and profit results through excellence in the ownership and development of customer relationships, and coordination of, and communication with, internal teams. To produce quotations/tender submissions for complex projects, ensuring high quality delivery and service of the end-to-end project quoting and fulfilment process, from providing accurate quotations in accordance with technical/pricing specifications and customer needs. To ensure effective job fulfilment and timely invoicing on completion, complying with all company systems and processes; to manage FSS projects by developing, overseeing, and delivering projects with a stringent financial plan.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



Establish project requirements, delivery objectives, timelines, costs, and commercials. Design projects to meet departmental outputs and KPIs. Manage projects to meet departmental outputs and KPIs. Design projects with guidance and independently (including but not limited to designing fuel tanks, pipework, pumps and FPUs, 2D and 3D CAD; Mathematical calculations, understanding product specifications, bill material identification and procurement) Review supplier quotes and propose a preferred supplier/sub-contractor to the Projects team based on price, quality, and delivery against client criteria and specifications. Prepare and update technical documents, RAMS, and other required documents to project and client specifications. Develop and manage detailed project plans, proactively planning and delivering against all resourcing requirements to ensure delivery in line with objectives. Manage the operational compliance of projects. Conduct regular site visits to manage and monitor the successful and streamline completion of all FSS projects. Monitor and manage all operational projects costs. Liaise with Finance to ensure agreed margins are maintained and projects are delivered within agreed budgets. Work with the account managers to ensure all clients' needs are met. Ensure all employees have the necessary resources and equipment to effectively complete their work on projects. Work with the Operations Manager in monitoring and managing project Engineer hours, expenses and accommodation, providing guidance, and investigating discrepancies and anomalies. Liaise with Scheduling to ensure the accurate placement of labour for projects. Develop and implement business processes and procedures to deliver project outcomes. Lead the procurement and management of sub-contracted resource for assigned projects. Plan and develop long term opportunities by creating a pipeline of opportunity. Develop and manage project bids, tenders, and proposals with effective pipeline management. Seek out opportunities to generate projects through innovation. Attend and present at client facing meetings. Escalate and appropriately resolve any projects issues in a timely manner. Complete the preparation and presentation of Project and SLA reporting as per contractual requirements and report progress to Directors. Work with all internal functions to report and record project progress, including financial factors, time and labor. Assist the Operations Manager in relevant Health & Safety incidents/investigations. Be a champion for change at FSS, through building appropriate internal and external relationships and actively collaborating across departments. Adhere to all health and safety and compliance policies and procedures. Be a point of contact for all site employees to report Health & Safety concerns, PPE limitations, issues, and requirements. Manage and enforce all H&S and PPE requirements across projects. Undertake any training required by FSS for development. Promote and embed the business aim for quality. Remain GDPR compliant consistently.

(desired) Degree level in Project Management or Engineering. SMSTS/SSSTS CSCS (provided) First Aid (provided)

Pay: 40,000.00 per year
