My client is a world leader in in the design, manufacture, and supply of leaflet label machinery with a strong reputation in the packaging industry and are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on new innovation processes and design solutions for their packaging machinery.

Bury Saint Edmunds \xe2\x80\x93 Office based.

Salary: \xc2\xa340,000 - \xc2\xa350,000

The Role

• Mechanical design of bespoke capital equipment/packaging machinery
• Using SolidWorks/AutoCAD
• Dealing with specification drawings
• Working on projects up to \xc2\xa320,000 - \xc2\xa3250,000 in value
• Managing multiple projects at once
• Working to tight deadlines
• Projects lengths could be 2-6 months.
• Build strong relationships with the Project Management team.
• Dealing with customers on technical issues & challenges
• Visit potential customers.
• Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and within deadlines.

• Experience of SolidWorks, CAD software is essential.
• Methodical approach

• Experience of sheet metal design, pneumatics & drives
• Understanding of pressures and tolerances, sizes and manufacturing processes.
• Background of Mechanical design of bespoke machines/capital equipment/packaging machinery/conveyors

• Mechanical engineer qualification preferably HNC/HND
• 3-5 years industrial machinery experience
