Your tasks









In this role you will be involved in the design and development of the next generation of optical switch products, creating and maintaining manufacturing, PDM and MRP information, as well as trouble shooting and solving issues for internal departments and external suppliers.


Starting from the concept stage, the successful candidate will also develop jigs and fixtures, prototypes.



Main tasks

Producing engineering documents in line with production need and projects Creating and maintaining manufacturing, PDM and MRP information Producing 3D design as well as detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks Designing, prototyping, setting up production jigs Carrying out tests and experiments, analysing results then refining components Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required Trouble shooting and solving issues for internal departments and external suppliers Supporting the design and development of the next generation of optical switch products Supporting Senior Design Engineers as required Ad hoc duties as required

Your profile









Degree BSc / BEng qualification or similar in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience 2+ year(s) experience working in a similar environment is desirable Experience in dimensioning complex parts with GD&T Experience in using SolidWorks CAD package is essential Experience in using PDM systems (CIMdb desirable but not essential) Familiar with mechanical calculations eg; Torque, force, stress, deformation, heat transfer Experience in precision opto-mechanical and/or electro-mechanical design Familiar with high reliability micro-fabrication techniques Solid basic knowledge on mechanical engineering from first principles Have a genuine passion for engineering Enthusiasm for innovation and creativity Understanding of a wide range of manufacturing techniques, materials and assembly processes Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team Good problem solving skills and a can-do attitude Hands-on, practical experience Excellent communication skills, at all levels, in English (both verbal and written) A good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
