You will be contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

You will have a proven track record of successful mechanical project execution, working on both large, complex systems and smaller component level design\xe2\x80\x93 preferably safety or mission critical. If this is you then we are waiting for you to join our team



Roles and Responsibilities

This post offers a challenging but rewarding opportunity to be part of a team in an influential role.

You will contribute to projects throughout the design lifecycle, and be part of the mechanical hardware team assigned to a project to deliver to agreed scope within cost, quality and schedule constraints, pro-actively managing change as it happens. You will:-

Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would primarily focus on mechanical engineering but also have an appreciation for electrical/electronic interfaces for all products

You will have a broadening knowledge of the mechanical discipline to execute policy/strategy. This may include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge or still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to support other junior team members. You will be able to develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Be able to explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

You will have successful experience of supporting technically complex projects, preferably on safety critical systems in a highly regulated industry. With a strong awareness of using 3D modelling software preferably Siemens NX, ANSYS thermal and structural packages, together with a PLM system such as Team-centre or Windchill, with possible exposure to Apriori, Granta and AutoCrear applications.

You enjoy using a flexible approach to managing the demands of the project and applying skills in new areas. You will be largely autonomous and quickly understand a wide range of design practices, processes and governance, alongside current project status and be able to communicate this to a variety of levels, internal and external to the organisation, both verbally and written.

A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university/college or comparable level of knowledge / experience.

Experience of Design for Six Sigma, Prince 2, Agile methodologies or PMP/PMI accreditation highly attractive.
