The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new containment products and prototypes, driving innovation in design for manufacture, and supporting continuous product improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
Creating innovative containment solutions using customer requirements and site measurements
Designing in SolidWorks / AutoCAD (or similar) for manufacture
Developing and testing prototypes, ensuring all assemblies meet quality standards
Providing technical calculations, specifications, and documentation to support designs
Collaborating with operations and manufacturing teams to deliver successful design projects
Offering on-site technical support when required
About You
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
Strong skills in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD or similar)
Proficiency in MS Office and general IT systems
A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of MRP/PDM systems (beneficial but not essential)
This role would suit an experienced Design Engineer, or a motivated graduate/junior engineer looking to build a career in R&D, NPD, or product design within a niche engineering environment.
