Mechanical Design Engineer - Derbyshire
40 p/h (Umb/Ltd) Role is outside of IR35
3-month contract
Immediate Start
Calculations and stress calculations - Mathcad and hand calculations. Large Structural Fabrications.
If you would like to work on some exciting Engineering projects, then please continue reading. My client is looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Engineer to come in and make a difference. Having recruited the most recent contractors for this company I can tell you that the likelihood of contract extensions is highly likely.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the following:

• The role is the high-level concept design and calculations of Mechanical systems taken from client specifications.

• Once you have understood the specification from the client you will be required to specify the Mechanical systems and perform calculations - using excel and Mathcad.

• You will be checking and performing calculations regarding structural loadings, fabrications, ducting and air flow loadings, pitch, heave and roll calculations for offshore applications.

• You will be carrying out concept design and engineering thinking regarding cost reduction, weight reduction and design for manufacture -how can it be improved.

You must possess the following skills to be considered for this role:

• Experience in Mechanical engineering

• Ability to carry out calculations and stress calculations - Ansys, Mathcad and hand calculations.

• Good understanding of client specifications.

• Support engineers, check work, attend and lead design reviews.

• Experienced in heavy engineering. Large structural fabrications.
