Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Derry, Northern Ireland

Contract: Contract role (staff positions may be considered)

Sector: Data centers

We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineers with strong expertise in chilled water systems, DLC cooling, air-cooled solutions and other critical mechanical infrastructure for high performance data centers. These roles will contribute to major next generation projects across both EMEA and AMER, supporting some of the most advanced facilities in the sector.

What you will do

Develop mechanical designs and system layouts for high performance data centers Specify and integrate chilled water systems, liquid cooling, air cooled plant and associated mechanical infrastructure Produce schematics, calculations, equipment selections and design documentation Collaborate with electrical, construction and commissioning teams to ensure designs can be executed cleanly on site Participate in design reviews, coordination sessions and technical discussions Review vendor information and ensure alignment with project requirements Maintain accurate and structured documentation throughout the design lifecycle

What you bring

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Proven experience in mechanical services design, ideally within data centers or mission critical environments Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, advanced cooling strategies and mechanical plant Ability to work with detailed technical information and produce structured engineering documentation Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams A proactive, delivery focused mindset and an interest in emerging cooling technologies

Pay: 60.00-70.00 per hour
