Job Description

The Role



An experienced mechanical design engineer required to develop and customise products for the Truck and Trailer industry.



Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to defined requirements.



Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production.



Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required.



Customer liaison for projects.



Liaison with Workshop Supervisor's to ensure projects are fulfilled on time.



Continuous Improvement of existing products.



Key Skills



A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork. Hydraulic and Electrical Knowledge would be helpful.



The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range.



The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects.



Minimum of HND in Mechanical Engineering.



Other Skills



Excellent working knowledge of Inventor 3D CAD or similar.



Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time.



Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation.



Able to work as part of a small team.



Excellent communication skills.

Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm



Friday 8.00 am to 1.00 pm



Location - Grantham



Commutable from Lincoln, Boston, Peterborough, Nottingham, Kings Lynn & Leicester
