Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 3 years mechanical design experience, along with being involved in designing sheet metal and fabricated products with complex assembly.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical; Design Engineer:
? Design and manufacture products from concept to production-ready solutions.
? Ensure all product designs comply with the latest regulations and standards.
? Collaborate with sales, purchasing, sub-contractors, and production teams to create feasible, cost-effective designs.
? Manage design projects, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
? Provide technical support for sales with customer quote drawings and bespoke solutions.
? Drive continuous improvement in design methods and production procedures.
? Adopt a hands-on approach to problem-solving during the design and manufacturing process.
? Maintain technical documentation, including CAD drawings and compliance records.
? Visit local production sites to assist with design clarifications and problem-solving.
Person Profile:
? Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field).
? Minimum of 3 years experience, ideally with sheet metal and with products involving complex assembly
? Proficient in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or similar).
? Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance processes, and industry standards.
? Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
? Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
? Creative, innovative, and solutions-oriented with attention to detail.
