Gigglepin Winches are based in Hildenborough, Kent and work at the forefront of Electric Winch and Off-highway product design.
We produce market leading innovations that are used in Professional, Race, Automotive, Marine, Defence and Aviation around the world.
We are constantly developing new ideas, while updating existing products and product ranges.
The Exciting bit:
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our happy, forward thinking team.
They must be self-motivated, hardworking and able to think outside the box.
Applicants must be proficient in the use of SolidWorks and able to solve problems, create designs and drawings ready for prototype, testing and production.
Engineers will be working to develop innovative new products and update existing designs.
This is not a desk bound job and successful applicants will be working to help create prototypes, test scenarios and full production modelling.
At Gigglepin we use the latest 3d additive technologies including carbon infused FDM and SLS machines for production and prototyping alongside our in house laser and test rigs. A new tool room is currently being commissioned with CNC Mill's and CNC lathes. Engineers will be given full training with these machines and encouraged to utilise these facilities.

You need to be proactive with a great can do attitude and a glass half full approach. Someone that is looking for an opportunity to move upwards in a Design Engineer career. You need to be a team player and able contribute to company life in the office and workshops. To be able to dig deep when required and to make the most of every moment and be the sort of person who thrives in a challenging, but rewarding environment.
You will have a fundamental understanding of CAD design programmes and a good knowledge of Solidworks, Solid Cam and know how to get the best out of it.
Knowledge of gears and gearboxes would be an advantage.
When designing you will be able to produce accurate project costings and be able to source components or skills required to complete your tasks.
You will know how to construct, implement and process a test programme to a predetermined schedule.
You will have an understanding of accessing and processing analytics, and be able to interrogate them to produce knowledge that can be used to create better products and improved designs for our portfolio and customers.
