*** Mechanical Design Engineer ***

3-6-month contract / Outside IR35

Location: Leeds / York / Wakefield / Harrogate / Wetherby

Gross Rate: \xc2\xa337.50p/h - \xc2\xa342.50p/h DOE

CAD \xe2\x80\x93 Autodesk Inventor / Vault / design / automation / SPM

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client, who are a global leading automation machinery manufacturer. They operate in the design, manufacture and installation of special purpose, automated machinery into fast paced FMCG, medical, pharmaceutical and green energy technology industries, all from their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Yorkshire.

Due to project wins, they are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3-6 months and is likely to be extended further.

As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will conduct the following daily duties:

• 3D design and modelling on Autodesk Inventor, and utilising Vault
• Responsible for design and modelling complex, high volume mechanical assemblies, fabrications, and GA\xe2\x80\x99s, in a highly technical engineering and automation equipment environment
• Tolerances, and design control, scoping calcs to prove out the designs being proposed
• Ensuring design project specifications are met, and ensuring designs correctly meet key project milestones
• Communicate effectively with internal key stakeholders on the design project including electrical and software teams
• Highlight design issues or snagging issues immediately to Lead Engineer

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will need to have the following attributes:

• Time served mechanical engineer or NVQ Level 3 with ideally HNC or Degree in Engineering
• Skilled within mechanical complex assemblies, and complex general arrangements etc
• Ability to work autonomously from a blank sheet and come up with concepts and solutions
• Strong mechanical and complex machinery engineering background
• 3D CAD \xe2\x80\x93 ideally Autodesk Inventor & Vault
• Excellent communications skills with both colleagues and clients
• A team player, professional and keen eye for detail
