As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a vital role in taking products from initial concept through to market delivery, designing enclosures, fixtures, and assemblies that bring our IoT solutions to life.
This is a hands-on position where your designs will directly impact residents' safety, delivering innovative products that improve compliance, efficiency, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Design innovative enclosures, fixtures, and mechanical systems for Auro's smart compliance products
Produce detailed CAD models, drawings, and rendered visuals to communicate designs effectively
Develop full technical documentation including specifications, BOMs, assembly instructions, and test procedures
Support scalable manufacturing by developing production and assembly processes optimised for both prototyping and high-volume manufacturing
Apply DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFA (Design for Assembly) best practice
Establish PLM best practices for version control and cross-functional collaboration
Work closely with electronics, firmware, and product teams to ensure seamless integration
Partner with suppliers, toolmakers, and manufacturers to maintain quality standards and production readiness
Contribute to product validation and compliance testing
What We're Looking For
Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
2+ years' experience in mechanical design
Proficiency with SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software)
Strong knowledge of materials, tolerances, and fastening systems
Proven ability to create accurate documentation and production packages with attention to detail
Experience managing projects end-to-end, including supplier engagement and production oversight
Self-motivated with strong project management skills and ability to work independently
Technical Expertise
Understanding of real-world installation conditions and manufacturing constraints
Experience with PLM systems and version control
Familiarity with validation processes, QC methodologies, and both prototyping and high-volume workflows
Desirable Skills
Experience with CAM milling, SLA 3D printing, and post-processing techniques
Knowledge of compliance/safety products such as fire doors, emergency lighting, or access control systems
Experience with IoT devices and enclosure design for electronic products
