Job Summary
: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical - Electrical Project Engineer to lead the design, integration, construction and commissioning of a new 20m processing site. The Project Engineer will be expected to bring experience of developing process mechanical electrical systems and will be responsible for technical coordination, specification and supervision for all aspects of this new plant from design phase to commissioning. This is expected to be the first of several such developments the Postholder will preside over.
You will manage a professional team that includes external and internal personnel, creating a system for governance covering H&S, cost management, quality, contract management and performance that aligns with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
:
The planning, development and execution of all aspects of this food processing plant project including:
Preparing key client side drawings and specifications including process flow, P&ID, schedules, layouts, plans and elevations etc
Issue specifications to solicit quotations for plant systems, utility, mech, elec, comms, civils, integration, test, consumables and other new build requirements
Instigate a functional design development process for the development of scada, comms and general control requirements that will integrate all subsystem requirements for full PLC/SCADA control. The process will include functional design philosophy, FAT and SAT components.
Help and undertake preparation of procurement documentation including adapting model terms and conditions, specification, performance testing, general testing and securities for performance, delay etc
Prepare plans for procurement, order management, site works, supervision and testing
Support the Project Manager, Operations Manager and other Company personnel on technical matters
Be the prime company means for co-ordinating and integrating design, specifications, company project objectives, construction work, testing and snagging
Undertake a client based overarching design approach with technical co-ordination and direct procurement of all requirements for process plant, civil works, mechanical installation, electrical installation, control systems, HVAC etc
Bring good compliant Health, Safety and Environment practice to design, construction and testing
Co-ordinate and direct the technical activities of the professional team so that the systems and works overall are well co-ordinated and integrated
Devise the performance testing framework for key suppliers including test parameters, thresholds, remedies, damages, test methods and contract test schedules
The Postholder
The postholder will have an appropriate track record for delivering process-mechanical-electrical projects or similar continuous process plant.
The postholder shall be given substantial autonomy to complete his/her obligations, working in a position of trust and shall meet the following eligibility criteria.
Engineering degree or HNC qualified or technical trade based education and training is sought
Good practitioner that can cover mech, elec, comms and civils matters
Qualifications/Experience
Essential
Relevant professional registration and or higher technical engineering qualification
Safety management qualification such as Nebosh Diploma, Iosh or or similar qualification
Five years prior experience in client side design, procuring, commissioning and site supervision
Understanding and proficient upon the regulatory environment including: environmental, DSEAR, health and safety
Well versed with a Project management software WindowsOffice 365 suite literacy including XL.
Excellent communication skills and a personable manner
The candidates must have the right to work in the UK and have a current driving licence and be willing to be subject to assessment and monitoring for prudent Occupational health reasons
