More detail about the role The Estates Department is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to train and develop alongside our highly skilled and dedicated trade staff, supporting the day-to-day mechanical maintenance of building services across the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and other Trust sites. As part of our friendly and experienced team, you will gain hands-on experience working on a wide range of non-patient facing medical infrastructure, mechanical building services, the on-site laundry production unit, and the hospitals energy power plant.
Your academic training will be delivered under the National Apprenticeship Scheme with Exeter College, with day release provided for study and exams. On completion, you will be fully qualified to undertake the duties of a hospital maintenance mechanical engineer, achieving both NVQ Level 3 and a BTEC level 3 qualification. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in mechanical engineering within the NHS, gaining both qualifications and valuable practical experience while supporting the vital infrastructure of our hospital services. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week.
