Summary



We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering Department.

You will be a pivotal member of a team who provide safe, efficient and environmentally responsible proactive and reactive maintenance, repairs and solutions for site plant machinery and other pieces of equipment across the Brocklesby business.

Responsibilities



Operation of all plant and equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Follow the maintenance routine of all plant ensuring it is kept in accordance with the site and manufacturers standards. (internal & external offsite plant) Exercising good manufacturing practices and excellent hygiene standards. Carrying out gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items, components & pipework. Carrying out gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) to manufacture items, components & pipework. Ensure that the factory has adequate utilities, steam and air required to undertake full production and processing of oil throughout the site. Ensure all new or maintenance of, plant installations adhere to the site rules and regulation when using any site equipment (e.g. forklift trucks). Ensure all risks are assessed before commencing work and where applicable Permits to Work are issued. No one should undertake any non-routine tasks unless a full risk assessment has been undertaken. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work. Ensure your PPE is kept clean and in good condition, stored safely and used accordingly with site rules. Keep your Team Leader or Manager informed of any breakdowns or damage that could cause disruption to customers, or slow down production. Contractors working on site must complete an induction and an Authorisation to Work. This is to be completed before the contractor enters the site. Once authorisation has been given, a permit to work will be issued if the contractor is doing a non-routine job. Have full ownership of all engineering equipment on site maintaining an accurate inventory of all plant and equipment. All defective or dangerous equipment is to be quarantined or removed from the area to stop further use. Ensuring all purchases are the best value for the company and full adherence to our purchasing process is undertaken at all times. Be available for call out when required, and arrange for cover when not available. Keep up to date with the environmental law so we abide by our PPC permit and evaluate the risks to the environment of any changes to our process. This is to be evaluated under normal abnormal and emergency conditions. Any abnormal conditions need to be communicated to the senior management immediately. Work with all other internal departments to effectively handle complaints and ensure support plans are in place to maintain long-term supplier and customer relationships. Skills & Knowledge



Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering. Good experience in TIG, MIG & Stick welding. Full Uk Driving Licence.

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. International Powered Access Federation - Mobile Vertical (3a) & Mobile Boom (3b). PASMA Low Level & Tower - User Level. IOSH Working Safely. BOAS Cat 2 - Steam Boilers Without Steam Raising Tubes. Understanding of PIRANA maintenance system. ITSSAR Accredited Counterbalance Forklift License B1 up to 5000kg.
