Mechanical Engineer
in the Tritium Fuel Cycle (TFC) division, you'll engage in functional and development activities for a world-class fusion fuel cycle on-site. You'll primarily contribute to the design of new H3AT facilities, advancing enabling technologies for the international fusion development market. These projects are central to our mission of developing nuclear fusion as a viable energy source, with the ultimate goal of commercialization.
Our unit is looking for an engineer who can find technical solutions, interpret and apply their knowledge to complete projects to a high standard. You'll work according to established technical management processes, delivering solutions with engineering integrity suitable for nuclear operations. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying and supporting viable technical solutions for the design, build, test, and commissioning of tritium-compatible fuel cycle plants and associated equipment, ensuring safe and operational facilities for tritium research.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support engineering delivery of a Supplier Engineering Package, ensuring designs meet requirements and standards.
Assist teams in the design, development, procurement and construction of experimental apparatus, lab facility and prototyping rigs to evaluate relevant technologies.
Produce Functional Specifications, Datasheets, Equipment Lists, General Arrangement Drawings, and other engineering documentation.
Support the development of project strategies and prioritisation, contributing technical expertise to shape project direction.
Support the team on supplier interactions, including factory acceptance tests (FATs), change management, contract support, and compliance with technical control standards.

Essential Requirements
Qualifications
Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent level in relevant STEM subject with demonstratable engineering experience.
Experience producing concept, preliminary, and detailed design documentation, including Functional Specifications, Datasheets, Equipment Lists, General Arrangement Drawings, including for managing vendor input.
Desirable
Experience with procurement in support of project work.
Experience with high purity gas systems, hydrogen, and/or vacuum systems.
