Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dundee
Grade: G11
This challenging position involves working as part of a small team in Dundee and with other facilities and suppliers in the support, design, evaluation and test of ATMs (Auto-Teller Machines for the Banking Industry) and the devices used in ATMs. A key requirement is to have several years' mechanical design experience with a keen interest in the design of product packaging & device integration
ResponsibilitiesWork on new product developments designing mechanical parts, assemblies and mechanisms - including injection moulded parts, sheet metal parts, castings, turned parts, etc. Clearly understand documentation and the ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator. FMEA experience. Module/Platforming/Product architectures Ability to work on several projects simultaneously Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle Lead electro/mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc. Experience in electro/mechanical product design and working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacturers. Working with Industrial design functions to deliver designs as conceived and within the commercial goals. Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards Supplier engagement and change management Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change

Basis Design and ExperienceEducation: BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (or very similar STEM related discipline) - min 2:1. Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies. Good solid experience in previous mechanical engineering roles. Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functions teams internally and externally. Highly proficient in CAD (Pro/E or Solidworks preferred)
