Job Overview
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at Arbor Forest Products, you will play a key role within our shift engineering team, supporting the reliable operation of our extensive 90-acre site. This hands-on position is vital to maintaining the efficiency of our plant, facilities, and equipment, while upholding our rigorous standards for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out both reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
Optimise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
Accurately document all work to meet site policies and health & safety requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain PPM schedules.
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to apprentices.
Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours as needed, including weekends and occasional night shifts.
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by management.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Multi-skilled with an electrical bias preferred.
Experience in high-speed, continuous industrial environments. Minimum 3 years post apprenticeship
Experience with PPM systems.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pressure vessels, and dust extraction systems is beneficial.
Experience in woodworking environments is advantageous.
Skills:
Good computer skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
Comprehensive Knowledge and experience of Mechanical systems.
Experience with lean manufacturing systems.
Personal Attributes:
A proactive, "can-do" attitude.
Strong ability to build good working relationships.
Confident, approachable, and motivated.
