Rich's Cider is a long-established family cider maker founded in 1954. As the business continues to expand, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining and improving our production facilities, ensuring smooth operation of both mechanical and electrical systems. You will work on a variety of projects, from routine maintenance to system upgrades, and play a key role in supporting our fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems across the production site. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in machinery, including PLC-controlled equipment. Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company procedures. Work closely with production and packaging teams to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate records for maintenance schedules and repairs. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Day-to-day Job Functions:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. Respond promptly to breakdowns and implement effective solutions. Calibrate and test PLC systems and associated sensors. Collaborate with external contractors when required. Ensure all work is documented in line with company and regulatory requirements. Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles. Capable of working with hygiene welding, specifically stainless steel. Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with cloud-based systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and able to handle tasks involving manual work.

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
